Thanks to the generosity of the doctors and staff of EyeHealth Northwest (EHNW), a new partnership between OLSHF and EHNW began this year. EHNW’s donation of up to sixty free cataract surgeries per year will provide many low income Oregonians with restored vision and allow Patient Care Program funding to extend to other types of vision and hearing surgeries.
Dr. Roger Saulson of EHNW contacted OLSHF after seeing KATU’s Everyday Heroes story about Dr. Martin Balish on television last year. Several doctors from EHNW participate in overseas missions to restore sight and wanted to continue that idea here at home, so that more people can be helped in their local community.
