ROAR! Hearing Assistance Program
Approximately 48 million Americans currently experience hearing loss.
The average cost for just one hearing aid is over $2,500, far out of reach for the typical household. And for most adults, any insurance coverage they have is unlikely to cover the total cost of their hearing aids.
Thanks to the tireless volunteerism of Lions Clubs members throughout Oregon & Northern California and to incredible partnerships with hearing providers & hearing aid manufacturers, the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation helps so many regain their hearing and hope for a better life.
Are you…an Oregonian in need of hearing aids?
If your gross household income is at or below 200% of the poverty level AND you have not accessed help from this program for at least 2 years, you may qualify to be sponsored by your local Lions Club for a hearing exam and new hearing aids! Please fill out our Get Help Form to get in touch with your local Lions Club.
Please note that Lions Clubs are made up of volunteers who fundraise throughout the year to help community members with vision and hearing needs. Sometimes your local Lions Club may not be able to help you at the time that you apply due to lack of funding, or they may have additional application requirements. Please be patient and await further instructions from your local Lions Club’s volunteer liaison in this circumstance.
This program is for adults — for children needing help with hearing healthcare, please check out our KEX Kids Fund Program for information on how to access.

How much…do the hearing aids cost?
Thanks to generous donors and strong partnerships, we can offer brand-new hearing aids at a very low cost!
The cost for 1 hearing aid is $200
The cost for 2 hearing aids is $400
Once approved, we will help connect you to a local hearing care provider, who may or may not be your current provider. We must receive the hearing aid fees before you can be fit with your hearing aids. Each hearing aid is covered by a warranty.

OLSHF partners with Pacific University’s School of Audiology to help beyond Hearing Aids
Have you or do you know someone who has:
Not heard a smoke alarm go off and felt scared as a result?
Not heard an important alarm go off and maybe missed a appointment or a meeting?
Had trouble sleeping due to disruptive Tinnitus?
Missed hearing the doorbell consistently?
Wished the person on the other end of the phone call’s voice was transcribed so that you could read it and not feel lost?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you might benefit from a Hearing Assistive Technology System (HATS)!
If your total monthly gross household income is at or below 200% of the poverty level AND you have not accessed help from this program for at least 2 years, you may qualify. Please fill out our Get Help Form to get in touch with your local Lions Club.
